About

Bart Lieben

Bart is an attorney with the Antwerp Bar and founder of pitch.law. Over the past twenty-five years, he has advised innovative entrepreneurs and enterprises across all aspects of intellectual property, technology, media and telecommunications law, as well as corporate and commercial law.

While working at PwC and Deloitte, Bart developed a comprehensive perspective on how companies function, manage risk, and identify business opportunities through innovation and strategic partnerships.

Key milestones in his career include directing the sunrise project for EURid during the launch of the .EU top-level domain, which remains the largest and most complex IP audit ever performed globally. Building on that experience, he developed the blueprint for what is now known as ICANN's Trademark Clearinghouse. Since 2007, he has held advisory roles with the United Nations, the European Commission, the European Patent Office, and ICANN.

Bart holds a Master in Laws and a Master in Business Law from the University of Antwerp, and advanced degrees in Intellectual Property Law and Corporate Law from KU Leuven. He has served as a researcher at the University of Antwerp's Law Faculty and as a lecturer at Karel de Grote-Hogeschool and the University of Alicante, teaching intellectual property, technology transfer, ICT law, and domain name dispute resolution.

He is a regular speaker at national and international conferences on intellectual property, information technology law, and outsourcing.
